What are network fees and who pays them?

Publicado el 1 mar 20261 min de lectura

Network fees (also called gas fees or transaction fees) are charges paid to the blockchain network to process your transaction. They're not controlled or collected by mb.io.

Who pays network fees?

  • For deposits: You (the sender) pay the network fee when you send crypto to mb.io from an external wallet or exchange.
  • For withdrawals: You pay the network fee when you withdraw crypto from mb.io to an external address. This fee is deducted from the amount you're withdrawing.

Why do network fees exist?

Blockchain networks require miners or validators to confirm transactions. Network fees compensate them for their work. The fee amount depends on:

  • Network congestion (busier networks = higher fees)
  • Transaction speed (faster confirmation = higher fees)
  • The blockchain you're using (Ethereum fees are typically higher than Tron, for example)

mb.io displays the network fee before you complete any transaction, so you know exactly what you'll pay.
